This is my virtual space for fiber. Besides me in my house, there are 2 fishes, 1 cat, 4 kids, 1 man and limited space for fiber. So the virtual one comes in handy.

FO no 9, 2006, triangles within triangles shawl

Some people get their adrenalin kick from extreme sports or big heights or speeding or whatever. I got mine yesterday from this:

Main body of shawl done, 3/4 of border done. Look at what's left of the yarn. Parachuting is for whimps. This is the real thing.

Of course I ran out of yarn. But I'd rather run out of this particular wonderful yarn than find myself having knit the shawl and have left-over yarn. You don't get left-overs from cashmere. You use it all, and find some solution or another for the lacking 1/4 border. My solution was a bit of lace wool in shade applewood from handpaintedyarn.com. Double stranded. The handpainted is a different story. I'm sure I'll get back to that.

The "solution" is visible of course, but I don't mind, neither does younger girl:

details:

yarn: hipknits cashmere sock yarn shade pink/brown, this shade is only available from loop - I got it as a gift from lovely Kris! And only one skein - 500 m made this big shawl!(well, yes, at least close....)

pattern: triangles within triangles, downloadable version can be bought here.

needles: inox (the best for lace - the pointiest tip!) circular size 6 mm.

This was the second lace shawl I made. Here is the first one.

There will be more.

It´s not only your shawl, that´s extraordinary beautiful, it´s also your pictures which make the shawl so special. It´s fantastic, and what a lovely wrap for soft, cool, romantic summer evenings.

it's absolutely stunning! so beautiful! and the photos are amazing - the light, the movement, your daughter looks like like a summer princess! And that little cheating with a different yarn - I do that too, all the time, I can't stand leftover yarn, so I run out of yarn every second time I knit something! If you can't see it from a galloping horse, then never mind!
