This is my virtual space for fiber. Besides me in my house, there are 4 fishes, 1 cat, 4 kids, 1 man and limited space for fiber. So the virtual one comes in handy.

FO no 5, 2006, sisu fantasy kneeheighs

I am very happy to be able to show (off) my third pair of socks, kneehighs for younger girl:

I used a top-down basic sock pattern and did no decreases down the leg, but found out I could just apply an increasing number of 2x2 ribbing in the back of the cuff to make it tighter as the leg narrows:

How rewarding to knit socks! This girl is very happy about them and wears them all the time!

details:

yarn: sisu fantasy form Sandnes Garn, less than 100 g.

needles: set of 5 dpns, 2,5 mm.

pattern source: basic sock pattern from sensational knitted socks, modifications: longer leg and ribbing in the back of leg

So now my entire family are lining up to get their pair of socks:

Good, durable, selfstripeyarn socks are what they're going to get!

I love the knee socks! I am thinking of a way I can pull that look off now ;)

Those are some great colors and I'm sure that she is loving them. It makes me want to knit some for my daughter.
How clever to increase the ribbings.
Knit on!

Suzi

what a great idea to rib the back of the leg! each time i see someone's knee-hi's, it makes me want to knit some for myself. if i start them now, i can (maybe) finish by the fall? once hot weather hits, i am sock free (wearing) for months.
Posted by karen @ 03/30/2006 03:04 PM PST
